Wow!!! It had been a couple years since I had eaten at the Woodbury Station Cafe. I took my mom for a Saturday lunch. The cafe was busy, but we were seated quickly. The chicken salad a sweet potato fries were very good, and tasted fresh. It's a great setting as well, in an old train station. I spoke to the owner who said she had taken over from her grandmother, I let her know she was doing a great job! Be sure to order the beignets!

I drive an hour to get food here, there is no where that can compete with them, in my opinion. The service is amazing the food is big for the cost, also the food is fresh at the perfect temperature. The servers make you feel like you're at home talking to your best friends/ family. The ambiance of the restaurant for both their indoor table as well as their outdoor tables makes you feel at home. The restaurant is right next to the train tracks so when the train goes by it adds to the experience. The owner(s) definitely know what they are doing, and the owner is there all the time.
This restaurant is known for its New Orleans style beignets. Whenever I go here, I plan to have at least one. They are actually better than the beignets I've had in New Orleans. My salad with grilled chicken was very good--I'm picky when it comes to grilled chicken, and this was seasoned very well and complemented the greens and veggies perfectly. My only disappointment was that they ran out of beignet mix! So no sweet treat for me. A gentle recommendation, also, if ever there are renovations to this Woodbury gem, is that the building be outfitted with noise absorbing panels. The noise level is very high and conversation can be difficult.
We've come here a few times over the years and always had good experiences. Lately though we've really connected with the staff and they treat us like royalty. Yes we always leave a heavy tip and try to strike up conversation. Carly the beautiful blonde with perfect teeth was awesome today making sure our brunch went perfect. She went above and beyond because I'm gluten free and vegan. Can't wait to come back next week!
Who doesn't love a 19th century train station that can scare up a very tasty omelette. You pay for the privilege of not having to endure the cookie cutter sameness that define Denny's and the like but character costs and every so often it's worth it. Service is swift and the coffee is free flowing. Woodbury Station is a very nice change of pace in South Jersey. All Aboard for four stars.
This is one of my go to places for breakfast. Beignets are amazing and so is the food. Quaint decor done in a modern like victorian style. Dinning rooms are small but manageable considering it was a old train station. I had the dippy eggs with potatoe pancakes and sausage gravy with a extra side of white toast and of course my favorite scrapple. Jenn had the avacado eggs benny on a english muffin with staion potatoes. Both plates equally delightful! You won't be disappointed!
